Halloween 2007 was Lyla Brooke's first Halloween. Chris and I were so excited and had so much planned for her. Nana and Grandad had bought her the cutest pig costume and we were going to take her around to see our families and show her off. Lyla Brooke spent part of the day with Nana while I went to the doctor that morning and then when Chris got home from work we both went to my mom and dad's house to get her ready for her first big Halloween. She had been pretty fussy all day but I was hoping that she would get better. Unfortunately she did not improve and refused to put her costume on. The only place that we visited was my grandmother at her assisted living facility and we had to cut that visit short because she screamed the entire time we were there. Chris picked up a glow stick from the assisted living facility ( they were for the trick or treaters) and played with it all the way home. He even put it on top of Lyla Brooke's head as if it were a halo and called her an angel! So much for the pig costume and the plans of visiting our families. We ended up back home at 7:30 giving her a bath and putting her to bed! Maybe next year will be a success.
