Our first sleep over....Daddy was called into work.

Last Saturday Chris got called into work at about 8:30 pm. Lyla Brooke and I did not want to be by ourselves because we knew that Daddy would not be back until the next day so we decided to spend the night with my mom and dad. This was our first night away from home. It was hard to pack up all our stuff for an overnight trip. ( so much more now that we have a baby). My mom was so sweet and offered to get up in the night with Lyla Brooke so that I could sleep. It was such a restful night and I was so thankful for that! Mom and Dad were exhausted the next day because Lyla Brooke decided that she wanted to cry twice an hour for her paci and then stay awake from 3 am until 6 am. She does that to me every night as well but I guess I am used to it. Nana and Grandad wont be offering those services anymore!! HA!

Chris's Mamaw and her 19th grandchild!!

Chris's Mamaw came to visit Lyla Brooke last Saturday. She loves children and they love her as well. Lyla Brooke so so happy in her arms and loved to just look at her face.

Oh No !! It is a frog.. wait no .. that is Lyla Brooke!!

Lyla Brooke loves to be swaddled in her cute frog towel that Dr. Patton and his family bought for her. We think she looks so cute all wrapped up in it and had to share it with everyone!!

Aunt Linda's Birthday.

Last Saturday our family celebrated Aunt Linda's birthday ( minus Chris and Lyla Brooke who were at home away from the germs). We had such a wonderful time eating Mexican food and enjoying each others company. Aunt Linda got to wear the birthday sombrero and got ice cream shoved in her face. We had such a great time. I love my family so much and the way that they always get everyone together for each others birthdays. I have such a wonderful family and thank God for them daily! It is so important to have the love and support from your family , and I have come to realize that so much more the older I get.

Rub A Dub Dub... Lyla Brooke is in the tub.

Lyla Brooke used to scream each time we gave her a bath. Now she just lays there and takes it all in. She loves to have water dripped over her belly and head. Lyla Brooke's Aunt Beth bought her a wonderful bathtub spa that she loves!! It has made bath time so much fun!! Daddy loves to give Lyla Brooke a bath and he does such a wonderful job! We both love Daddy so much!!

Aunt April and Lyla Brooke.

Aunt April loves Lyla Brooke so much. I think that she would steal her if she could. We cannot wait until Lyla Brooke gets older and Aunt April can babysit!

Thanks Nanna and Grandad for my pretty outfit!

Chris, Lyla Brooke and I were on our way to Red Lobster to eat with mom and dad. We decided since we NEVER take her anywhere to put her in something cute. Here are a few pictures of her outfit that Nana and Grandad bought for her. We did not end up leaving her in this outfit because she started throwing a fit and got all sweaty. It was cute while it lasted!

Daddy and Lyla Brooke watching Titans Football.

Last night Lyla Brooke and Daddy watched the Titans game together. She sat in his lap during the game and slept. She loves to cuddle up next to Daddy's face where it is nice and warm.

If you do not feed me I will just eat my thumb.

Lyla Brooke loves to eat! She is very demanding when she is hungry and if we do not have her bottle ready and waiting she has learned to suck her thumb to soothe herself. Here are a few pictures that we took of as she is waiting to be fed.

April's fight for world peace.

April would like everyone to know that her biggest wish is for world peace.

Meet Chris's Family

I did not have any pictures posted of my husband's family and Lyla Brooke. They have been so good to us as well. We appreciate them so much. They love to come visit, bring Lyla Brooke gifts and help us when needed. Thanks so much!

Sweet little Lyla Brooke feet.

Baby Feet

By Edgar Allen

Tell me, what is half so sweet
As a baby's tiny feet,
Pink and dainty as can be,
Like a coral from the sea?

Talk of jewels strung in rows,
Gaze upon those little toes,
Fairer than a diadem,
With the mother kissing them!

It is morning and she lies
Uttering her happy cries,
While her little hands reach out
For the feet that fly about.
Then I go to her and blow
Laughter out of every toe;
Hold her high and let her place
Tiny footprints on my face.

Little feet that do not know
Where the winding roadways go,
Little feet that never tire,
Feel the stones or trudge the mire,
Still too pink and still too small
To do anything but crawl,
Thinking all their wanderings fair,
Filled with wonders everywhere.

Little feet, so rich with charm,
May you never come to harm.
As I bend and proudly blow
Laughter out of every toe,
This pray, that God above
Shall protect you with His love,
And shall guide those little feet
Safely down life's broader street.

And so the story goes.......

Lyla Brooke loves to read books with Daddy. This is their special time together when he gets home from work. She will sit in his lap and listen to his voice as he reads each line. Sometimes she will look at the pages even though she cannot see them. Her favorite book is My First Prayers. Daddy claims that she does not like the book Goodnight Moon , but I think that Daddy is the one who does not like it.

Church, Friends, Food and Mad Gab.

Last night we had a mens and womens get together at our church. We had such a good time eating, talking and playing Mad Gab. Lyla Brooke was of course the center of attention. She was very good while we were there. It was nice to have everyone so willing to feed, hold and calm her while Chris and I enjoyed the night.

You Will Catch a Fly!

Everyone laughs because Lyla Brooke sleeps with her mouth open. I thought that these pictures were funny because now we know where she gets that trait!!
