My best friend's wedding. March 15th 2008.

One of my best friends whom I have known since 2nd grade got married on Saturday. I was so excited to be a part of her big day. We had such a great weekend in Bowling Green with her family and friends. She looked amazing and I could not be more happy for her and her new husband. I just have a few pics from the big day. I did not have my camera with me for most of the weekends activities so I did not get to capture many good moments. We had no sleep the entire weekend and ran around like crazy . I was so exhausted when I got home but it was worth it! I just wanted to say an extra thank you to my friend Miako who saved the day my fixing my HUGE dress an hour before the wedding. It is amazing what safety pins can do!

Never leave Daddy, Lyla Brooke, a camera and a huge headband alone in the backseat.

Chris was having too much fun with Lyla Brooke on our way To Zaxby's after church. I know now that I shouldn't leave him alone in the backseat with Lyla Brooke.. he has way too much fun trying out new styles with this headband. Enjoy!

The girls and their new man.

My husband and I went to Gatlinburg with out church in Feb. I am just now posting this blog because I never have time to do this anymore. We had such a great time spending the weekend with our friends and my sister. We stayed in a great hotel and had great weather. We played mini golf, rode go carts, went to the Kutless concert, shopped and ate. I enjoyed several caramel apples which are my favorite! I found some really great rainboots at Gap outlet for 14 bucks! That was one of the highlights of my weekend. Here are a few pics!

Lyla Brooke was 6 months old.

New toy from Grandad because Lyla Brooke was sick and she is spoiled. HA!

Lyla Brooke turned 6 months old on Feb 26th and being the bad mom that I am I forgot to post. I am not exactly sure how accurate her measurements are because I did them all at home because I was afraid to take her to the doctor in the middle of flu season. So, nurse mommy did her shots andmeasurements from home. She weighed 14 lbs 8 ounces and was 25 inches long. This puts her in the WHOPPING 20 th percentile! Big GIRL! HA! After her shots she ran a fever and I felt so bad because this was the first time that she had ever ran a fever after her shots , and the first time that I gave them to her. I was advised to do this by Dr. Patton since I was not going to take her in for checkup so that she would not get behind on vaccines. It was horrible actually.. Chris covered her face and I gave them really fast. I cried more than she did. She was over it all in like 2 seconds. She started crawling as well at 6 months ( or her version of it anyway). She is fast and in to everything! She is like a little sponge and copies noises and sounds that you make. She has also learned to clap after you do it first. She is so fun and I look forward to each day that she learns something new.

I wish I had some ruby slippers....

One of the most frightening nights of my life was the night the tornado hit Tennessee. They came right through the town that I live. We had an eventful night crouched over in the bathroom floor. Lyla Brooke slept the entire time oblivious to her surroundings. As the rain came down so did the hail and wind. I was on my knees praying to God that he would keep us safe and protect our families. I actually was a nervous wreck. Chris kept trying to calm me asking me why I was so worried. At one point he asked me if I was afraid to die. As I sat there in the bathroom thinking of those words I began to tell myself.. no I am not afraid to die. I would love to be in heaven, but I did not want to leave my sweet Lyla Brooke. The more I thought about how I was not afraid to die the more calm I became. We all trusted in God and he did keep us safe. We had quite a bit of hail damage on our cars, but I will take that any day over loosing a loved one, a home or our priceless possessions.

Dr Swogger's Birthday.

A bunch of us girls from OHPA went to the Melting Pot for Dr. Swogger's birthday. It was so much fun to hang out with everyone outside of work. I was really sick that week and was on Bactrim for a double ear infection. I had taken my Bactrim prior to leaving for dinner and it made me SO SICK. Dr. Swogger had to stop in the middle of 2nd ave so that I could quickly open the door and puke in the middle of the road( oh yes while cars were waiting). It was crazy. I could not stop throwing up so Kelly Goodman found a cup and I started using that until I could jump out of the car and run to a bathroom. I still got to enjoy my dinner and felt much better after my episode of hurling! Sorry girls about having to put up with that , and no more Bactrim for ME!

Valentines Day 2008

All dressed up for Valentine's Day on my way to eat dinner ( prior to the huge fit)

My new toy. Thanks Daddy . You are the best!

Valentine's Day came upon us so quickly this year. I felt like it was just Thanksgiving. Lyla Brooke and I spent the first part of the day with my mom. We went out to lunch and did a little shopping. Chris had a really bad day at work so when he got home he was really bummed out and not in much of a talking loving mood. It was not his fault and I tried to make him feel better, but the situation that he had dealt with that day was weighing heavy on his mind. I felt so bad for him, but I knew that there was not much else I could do but be there to support him. He ended up cheering up a little and we decided to go out to dinner with my parents and my sister. When we got the restaurant it was like 7:00 and that is Lyla Brooke's bedtime. She ended up screaming so much that we left. We took her back home and put her to bed. My parents brought our dinner home to us and we ate in the floor of the living room ( because we had sold our furniture and were waiting on the new stuff to arrive) . We talked and watched TV and spent some time together just the two of us. It ended up being a great Valentines Day aside from the few minor set backs that we had. Oh, and Lyla Brooke got a new basketball goal from Daddy because she was his Valentine!
